Acoustics Enforcement NZ can also perform impartial final commissioning tests of projects RMA compliance, - working for council town planning officers.
Historically, council town planners have allocated final commissioning test work of applicant's projects to acoustical consultants chosen and employed by the project applicants. The following standard planner's clause has been typically used.
"Noise monitoring of the project is to be undertaken by a suitably qualified and experienced acoustical consultant, at the applicant's expense".
We ask, is it legally correct that an applicant specifies who performs final commissioning testing of an applicant's project?
